Kazuki Yamada has been appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, starting in the 2018/2019 season. The young Japanese conductor made his debut with the orchestra in 2012 and has returned regularly, including for a highly successful tour of Japan two seasons ago. Yamada is Artistic and Music Director of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo, a position he has held since 2016. He was also recently announced as Principal Guest Conductor of Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra.
